Science Finally meets Paganism?

I came across this Science Festival on Richard Dawkins website. Part of the description reads “Opening on 10/10/10 with a gala concert of amazing science songs performed by over 200 children and adults at the University of Maryland, the Festival promises to be the ultimate multi-cultural, multi-generational and multi-disciplinary celebration of science in the United States.”

I find it interesting that a Festival exists to celebrate Science in such a peculiar way. I love Science, but when did Science become so delightful that we should choose to sing songs about it? Seems a bit Pagan; at the very least humanistic. I suppose the only real way to tell if it’s a prolific pagan party is if they dance around a Maypole singing ‘Summerisle ( The Maypole Song )’ from the “Wickerman.”
