Stay! Stay from the burning shrub of righteous Light.

Stay! Stay from the burning shrub of righteous Light.
Let us amass and creep into the dying of the night.
Come. Draw nigh and garner bounty we cannot keep.
Power, wealth, wistful joys soothe hearts bent to weep.
Praise, No! Glories extol the one who shirks to behold
the tireless quest of men’s hearts from depths of old.
Too long have we traveled and peered over yonder
looking for a path through Jordan as we futilely wonder.
Rolling green pastures await us to close our arid worn eyes
and be swaddled with golden slumbers from vapid trivialities.
Yes, to be filled and warm by that final hemlock sleep.
The dreams of dearth never seemed as sweet.
What great news to hear this is how the Cosmos will mend
all things together; without a bang, yet a whimper, the world shall end.

  1. I loved this, especially the T.S. Eliot reference at the end!
Your blog is really refreshing and insightful – and I just saw that you have links to Ravi Zacharias, Richard Dawkins, AND Stuff Christians Like. Bravo.
